Spain places government bonds for almost 6 billion, rates plummeting

This morning Spain placed 3 and 6-month government bonds on the market for a total of 5,64 billion euros, a much higher figure than what seemed to emerge in the intentions on the eve.

Rates are down sharply: for the 3-month bond auction, the Spanish Treasury snatched rates to 1,735% against 5,11% in the previous November 22 auction, while for the 6-month bond auction the yield fell to 2,435% from 5,227% of the previous placement.
