It went into effect yesterday the decree law saves European infractions, which was published in the Official Gazette and which contains, in article 8, the new regulation on special bonds, the Monti bonds, which Banca Montepaschi must sell to the Treasury in order to be able to comply with the capital strengthening parameters required by the EBA .
The provision, following the provisions of the European Commission, provides that MPS can pay the coupons relating to the Monti bonds through the issue of ordinary shares, at market value, or other Monti bonds. The decree will flow into the stability law.
In the morning, the share of Banca Mps went up on the stock market, gaining 1,20% to 0,202 euros per share.
