THECompetition and Market Authority against the mobile telephony giants. The Antitrust, as announced in a press release, has in fact opened four non-compliance proceedings against Vodafone, Wind, Tim and H3G for the provision of paid services to mobile phone users (so-called premium) unsolicited or unknowingly requested.

The investigation follows the fine of 5 million euros imposed on operators last January for having adopted the commercial practice through "misleading information omissions and aggressive conduct" and was opened after reports from some customers who they still found themselves paying for premium services without any warning.

The new investigations must be concluded within 120 days from the date of communication, and the Guarantor Authority will decide on the possible imposition of pecuniary sanctions.
