The Riva factories will reopen next Monday. This was announced by Flavio Zanonato, Minister of Economic Development, at the end of the meeting held today at the dicastery in via Veneto.

The Paduan minister summoned Mario Tagarelli, the custodian and judicial administrator of the assets and accounts of the Riva group that ended up under seizure, to Rome this morning, as well as the representatives of Riva Acciaio and of the banks that maintain relations with the same steel group. meeting was to find a solution to the problem of access and the relative use of the liquidity existing in the group's accounts, around 56 million euros according to the latest update, today blocked by the seizure. This is to allow the Riva Acciaio companies to restart after more than a week of shutdown with 1300 idle workers.

“The reopening of the factories, explains a note, will also be possible thanks to the measures taken during the day by the investigating judge of Taranto, with which the banking institutes were guaranteed the possibility of reopening banking operations with the group, ensuring that the new collections of the Riva Acciaio company will not be subject to further seizures and can instead be used for business continuity needs".

“Thanks to the fundamental result achieved today – said the Minister – as early as next Monday, 1400 workers will be able to return to their workplace. In these days we have worked with great commitment and with everyone's collaboration to achieve this goal. We will continue to monitor and follow up the situation to ensure that production continuity is preserved”.

As regards the sums seized, equal to approximately 60 million euros, during the meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development “a path was identified, shared by the Gip in its provision, aimed at reintroducing the seized amounts into the company payment cycle in the short term. This path introduces the progressive allocation, through an economic-financial plan that will be prepared in the next few days, of an amount equal to the resources that will be released from the seizure, under the strict control of the judicial administrator'”.
