Zalone becomes producer and “Quo Vado?” starts the receipts record

“Quo Vado?”, the new film by Checco Zalone, grossed more than 26 million euros in just four days, flying to the top of the seasonal box office. The success should also benefit the coffers of the Officina 5.1 production company, founded by Zalone in 2014 with three other partners and registered with the Chamber of Commerce in November of the same year, as shown by the documentation consulted by the Radiocor Agency.

The company, created by the comedian with Giuseppe Saponari, project manager, Fabio Volpentesta and Pietro Morana, both film producers and former equal partners in the Roman Inlusion, has not yet drawn up a financial statement, as it records only two months of activity and expects the filing of the first income statement of 2015.

The four partners each have a 25% stake in the limited liability company which has its registered office in Castellana Grotte, a town in the province of Bari where both Zalone and Saponari were born (also chairman of the board of directors of Officina 5.1).

The activity registered by the Bari-based company is predictable: cinematographic, video and television program post-production. And in fact he has already started television and film studios in the city of Rome in via della Marra. The production company appears to have an authorized capital of 10 thousand euros, subscribed for as many and paid up for only 2.500 euros. In addition to being an actor, comedian, musician, songwriter, cabaret artist, impersonator, television host and screenwriter, Checco Zalone therefore also plays the role of co-producer.

The latest film by the Apulian comedian, produced by Pietro Valsecchi's Taodue, directed by Gennaro Nunziante (same director for the other three films by Zalone), now seems set to break all box office records in Italy and surpass the record of the previous "Sole a catinelle", which in 2013 totaled over 50 million euros, placing itself as the second highest-grossing ever in Italy after "Avatar" by James Cameron in 2009.
