YOGA – Ryoga Trastevere opens in Rome, Marco Bernabè doubles

Less than two years after the start of the first center, Ryoga Sallustiano, in Via Servio Tullio, opens its doors today Ryoga Trastevere which, with a total surface area of over 500 square meters, becomes the largest studio in Italy dedicated exclusively to yoga and holistic disciplines.

From the recovery of an important long-abandoned space in via dei Fienaroli, in the heart of one of the symbolic districts of the capital, four practice rooms have been created: three for yoga and a Pilates studio equipped with specific machines.

Among the new features, a futuristic "Aerial Flow" room for practicing suspended in hammocks fixed to the ceiling, a dedicated room for "Barre Pilates", and the possibility of practicing "Hot Yoga" in a space heated by radiant panels and floor.

As in the first Ryoga center, in via Servio Tullio, here too there are more than thirty yoga styles practiced, in addition to Pilates (in its studio, matwork and barre forms), for a total of ten hours of lessons every day; and the same number of teachers, all certified in Italy and abroad, with many years of experience.

The practice rooms are joined by areas for reception and relaxation: environments finished in stone, marble and wood, a peaceful courtyard designed as a lounge area, a space for holistic consultations, Ayurvedic therapies and shiatsu massages, and a corner shop with clothing and accessories for the practice.

“In 2005, in Canada, where I lived for a while, I was injured snowboarding and a friend recommended yoga to me” explains the founder of Ryoga, Marco Norberto Bernabè, “I realized that in that country it was not a marginal practice for gyms and wellness centers but an activity organized with scientific criteria. Then in Hong Kong, where I worked, I began to study yoga centers from the point of view of corporate and business organization and, returning to Italy, I realized that we lacked an innovative offer, aimed at all those seeking well-being at acceptable prices. I therefore decided to bring to Rome a model that is now consolidated in Asian and American metropolises, where yoga is a mass practice, aimed at those looking for a form of sustainable well-being against stress".

A few days before the opening, the calendar of Ryoga Trastevere is already full of events and appointments: at the end of September there will be a masterclass with Yogeswari, an internationally renowned teacher, in the following weeks a seminar on nutrition with the nutritionist Virginia Gattai, a workshop with Sharon Gannon, founder of the Jivamukti style, and a meeting with Paola Maugeri, who will present her latest book, while the training for yoga teachers recognized by the Yoga Alliance will begin in January.
