A new thriller opens in the Vatican. This time on the scene there is not the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, but something more profane: the presidency of the IOR. This morning the Adnkronos agency wrote that the position left vacant by Ettore Gotti Tedeschi would be destined for the German Ernest von Freyberg.
It would be a real twist, given that yesterday the rumors confirmed the nomination of the Belgian Bernard DeCorte, the other new supervisory board member. However, the news had not been confirmed by the Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi.
At the moment the dossier remains open and the name of the Turin lawyer also remains in the running Antonio Maria Moroccoformer member of the board. The announcement should arrive in the next few hours.
