New rumors relaunch the attention around Yahoo!. After rumors of a new takeover attempt by Microsoft is the Wall Street Journal to introduce a new possible weight candidate. According to the US newspaper, even Google could in fact make its own proposal.

Google has already contacted potential partners to study a possible offer. Many points still remain to be clarified, especially linked to possible intervention by Antitrus USA which already in 2008 rejected the alliance between the two groups. It was precisely that rejection that pushed the Sunnyvale portal towards a ten-year alliance with Microsoft in the field of research.

Google would look to Yahoo with interest above all for the many editorial contents that the site produces and which would be one ideal outlet for the AdSense advertising platform. Google would in fact be interested in selling some advertising through Yahoo's websites, according to people familiar with the matter.

Any deal involving Google could also bring other opportunities, such as bring Yahoo users to the Google + social network, to be precise almost 700 million unique visitors per month.

Yahoo also has relationships with many premium publishers like ABC News, which provides video content, and other sites that Yahoo currently sells ads for.

Google's interest in participating in Yahoo's business operations may also be partly a attempt to drive up prices and make things more difficult for competitors like Microsoft. In fact, the IT giant wants to help sell advertising space on Yahoo sites, whose turnover is 2 billion dollars a year.
