According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo would have reached an agreement for the purchase of Tumblr, a well-known microblogging platform that gathers millions of users, for $ 1,1 billion. The negotiations would have been completed by now and, at this moment, only the official announcement is awaited, which could arrive as early as today.
The Tumblr purchase would be Yahoo's first big move since Marissa Meyer took control of the group last July. The platform, which to date, according to the Wall Street Journal, "generates little revenue", would continue to operate independently under the leadership of its founder David Karp.
