Yahoo! she's on a war footing, but she knows who's in front of her. The complaint of the popular search engine and web portal against the social networks par excellence it is in fact arrived as a declaration to the NYT online financial newspaper, DealB%k. Facebook and Yahoo! are already partners on the integration between mobile applications and news, but NYT sources speak of violazioni by Facebook in the context of basic functions of social networking and not only in that of advertising linked to the news. For this reason Yahoo! does not want to overlook an important starting point for monetization such as the one that could arise from the request for dues on the immense community of the social network.
"Yahoo has a responsibility to its shareholders, employees and other stakeholders to protect its intellectual property," said a Yahoo! to the financial newspaper – or Facebook will enter into a license agreement or we will be forced to proceed unilaterally to protect our rights”.
