The United States, with the presidential elections upon us, will ask the WTO to open a file against China because it competes illegally thanks to subsidies to the sector

WTO, new US accusation against China for subsidized auto and spare parts exports

Today the US authorities will ask the World Trade Organization (WTO) again to open a dossier against China. The accusation is that of promoting the export of cars and spare parts with subsidies.

A White House official made it known in advance.

According to some, it is a political move given the arrival of the news in conjunction with the electoral campaign for the presidential elections (which will close at the beginning of November, ed).

The WTO accused China of providing at least $2009 billion in subsidies for vehicle and auto parts exports between 2011 and XNUMX.

Beijing, which exports virtually no cars to the United States due to the embargo, has rapidly increased exports of this sector to developing markets and this "competes" illegally (according to Washington) with its own auto industry.

US President Barack Obama is expected to announce this new appeal to the WTO during his visit to the state of Ohio.
