A further and important acknowledgment for the Italian university Bocconi comes from World university ranking 2013 published today. Indeed, in the rankings divided by faculty, the university chaired by Mario Monti gained 17 positions compared to last year among the universities in social sciences and management, ranking 29th in the world. In Europe it ranks ninth.

The ranking, created by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the international network dedicated to training and the professions, is based on the academic and graduate reputation, on the citations obtained in relation to the number of teachers, on the teacher-student ratio and on the presence of students and faculty international.

In the general Employer reputation ranking, based on the evaluation of graduates by recruiters from all over the world, Bocconi ranked 19th in the world.

“The recognition obtained highlights Bocconi University's vocation to effectively combine excellence in research and teaching. In fact, the different indicators that make up the ranking signal a general appreciation of both the scientific reputation of its teaching staff and the reputation of graduates, capable of assuming positions of responsibility in companies that compete globally,” he comments Stephen Caselli, pro-rector for internationalization of Bocconi. "And this represents recognition of the effectiveness of an overall model, which reconciles profound attention to research and teaching, in the overall interest of our students".

In July, in the rankings drawn up by QS dedicated to the individual disciplinary areas, Bocconi was placed 17th in the world for economics and econometrics and 21st for finance and accounting.
