On March 1st the "Hear-a-thon Italy, the Hearing Marathon”, an event linked to World Hearing Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness of hearing problems. In this context, Enel has launched an innovative challenge to support people affected by hearing pathologies, presenting aapplication developed by Pedius which allows you to make phone calls using speech recognition and synthesis technologies.
The story of Fabio Bosatelli
During the panel on misperceptions regarding hearing impairment, Fabio Bosatelli shared his story. Affected by profound deafness since birth, Fabio holds the position of Head of Automation and Robotics in Enel Green Power, in the Enel group. “The first thing is to recognize and understand your limits to try to overcome them. It is a long road, a climb – he said – which must be tackled without looking at the top of the mountain but step by step, objective after objective”. Fabio underlined the importance of recognizing and overcoming one's limits step by step, without looking to the top. This mentality led him to achieve two degrees and a a in Business Administration, as well as leading international teams and projects involving more than one hundred people around the world.
“We are responsible for two macro-activities: activities with drones, robots and artificial intelligence which involve maintenance and inspection of plants with innovative technologies, and the governance of Advanced Analytics”.
Fabio highlighted how Enel places people at the centre, mentioning the application which has simplified his life and work. “This app was fundamental for me and allowed me to interact with clients and colleagues by telephone, making my life and work easier.” Finally, Fabio underlined the importance of including and integrating, encouraging everyone to enhance human and professional relationships for the common good. “We all have this beautiful and right aspiration”.
