World best Roses: the best rosé wine in the world is from Trentino, and a Sicilian comes in ninth place

Great affirmation for Italy in the ranking of the best rosé wines in the world: the World best Roses famous portal for monitoring and comparing wine prices at a global leveland included two Italian wines in the list of the ten best rosé wines in the world. First place overall in the ranking was conquered by Trentodoc Maso Martis Rose Extra Brut, produced by the company led by the Stelzer family Trentino sparkling wine company of small proportions, 10 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards which for years has been attested to a high level of production. The Rose Extra Brut was judged "dry and delicious sparkling wine" with floral notes of berries, red fruit and delicate bubbles. Another company, this time Sicilian, family-run, takes ninth position: the rosé Terre Siciliane Igt from the Lamoresca agricultural company.

Both small but high-level organic companies

The Lamoresca rosé, Nero d'Avola variety, Frappato and a small percentage of Moscato, is obtained by fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without maceration on the skins and aging in concrete tanks for 6 months. The company owned by Filippo Rizzo in Contrada Gigliotto in San Michele di Ganzaria (CT) has a relatively recent history. The small original nucleus purchased in 2000 it was enriched with other lands. Today the company is spread over an area of 25 hectares at 450 meters above sea level and in addition to vines, olive trees and prickly pears are grown.

Its size has allowed for an organic setting of the crops: all the production processes both in the cellar and in the oil mill are personally followed by Rizzo and his sons.

“Our products – states Rizzo – express the typical nature of the territory and contain all its peculiar characteristics. The traditional approach to processing with an organic philosophy combined with modern technical knowledge contributes to obtaining an excellent result.
