At the procession in Rome promoted by the three union organisations it happened that both workers and entrepreneurs marched together to claim the same things. A fact like this had never happened in the history of our Republic. That this fact concerned predominantly the delegations of Ravenna and that the workers in the sector of theoil and gas whose future is jeopardized by purely insane and self-defeating decision of the majority yellow green it does not diminish its importance. On the contrary, it accentuates it.
THEoil and gas it is an excellence of the Italian production system, it is a sector which creates jobs and wealth and which contributes to the resolution of the national energy problem by reducing our dependence on foreign countries. Dependency which today is equal to 90% of the requirement but which could be greatly reduced if only we had the wisdom to fully exploit the natural reserves we have.
The fact that i trade unions and entrepreneurs in the sector have reacted in unison and that together they have opposed the choices of those who are against development and in favor of degrowth not only demonstrates that there is an Italy that works and produces that doesn't give in to unjustifiable choices, from any point of view you look at them but, above all, it demonstrates that this Italy is ready to unite and fight to prevent the country from regressing.
Corporatism has nothing to do with it. It has to do with love for the country and respect for work. The refusal to waste the resources we have has something to do with it and respect for the sacrifices made by those who preceded us and created this heritage, which we have a duty to preserve and pass on to the new generations. The work ethic and responsibility have to do with it and evidently the 5 Stars don't even know what they are given that their spiritual leader, Grillo, has decided to be ironic about the 200.000 people in Piazza San Giovanni by calling them "madamines".
In demonstrating together for the work and development of workers and entrepreneurs there is, in reality, the seed of a social, cultural and even political alliance which must be encouraged and consolidated because this is the alliance that can lead us out of the crisis. Both the centre-left and the centre-right would do well to reflect on this, because only those who know how to get in tune with this Italy, with its common feeling and with his will to grow he can reasonably hope to go back to governing the country once the night of politics in which we are immersed it will be over.
To do it the centre-left will have to definitively abandon any antagonistic ambitions and every pauperistic impulse, while the center-right will have to resist the pressure of the No Tav and the No Triv. If he doesn't know how to do it, the wind that is now blowing in the sails of the League and that pushes it so far it will fall and with it also the ambitions of the its captain.
