According to data from the Excelsior Information System, created by Unioncamere in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, more than 70% of research for these professional figures is not successful. Italian companies, which are increasingly focusing on technological innovation, are struggling to find graduates with the right skills, despite the growing demand.

The fashion system: 64% of graduates untraceable

According to the data, over 721 thousand graduates are unavailable to companies, with 48,7% of requests for technical-professional diplomas remaining unanswered. In particular, the fashion system, mechanics, mechatronics and sectors such as energy and electronics present difficulties exceeding 60% in finding qualified profiles. Companies therefore find themselves having to face increasing competition to attract talent.

Sectors that are more difficult to find: wood, plant engineering, energy

Vocational education and training (IeFP) is a fundamental channel for the preparation of highly specialized figures, but even in this area the difficulties are notable. The sectors in which the shortage of graduates is most marked are thermo-hydraulic systems (with 69,5% of difficulty in finding) and the wood sector, with a rate of unavailability that reaches 71%. These areas require very specific technical skills, difficult to acquire and find on the market.
