Wine: two days in Rome all about Nebbiolo, tastings and masterclasses for Roero, Barbaresco, Barolo, Gattinara, Ghemme and many others

Lovers of quality Piedmontese wines can mark a date in their diaries: On January 12th, an exclusive two-day event will be held at the Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome, Via Cavour dedicated to one of the most loved vines in the world, Nebbiolo black grape variety from Piedmont used for high-quality aging wines (DOC and DOCG) whose historical origins date back to the end of the thirteenth century.

A rare opportunity to taste a vast selection of Roero, Barbaresco, Barolo, Gattinara, Ghemme, Boca, Lessona, Bramaterra, Fara, Sizzano, Valli Ossolane, Colline Novaresi, Coste della Sesia, Valle D'Aosta, Valtellina, Monferrato, Carema, Canavese and other micro-realities scattered throughout the Piedmont region, all based on Nebbiolo.

The event, “Nebbiolo nel Cuore” is an appointment that, through the tasting of the different types of Nebbiolo, intends to lead visitors on a sensory journey to discover territories rich in history and traditions and at the same time promote the winemaking excellence of the beautiful territories in which it is grown.

“Years of promoting Nebbiolo in its chosen territories have earned the loyalty of an ever-increasing number of enthusiasts and industry professionals to Rome, who participate in our event in search of excellent labels and producers” – says Marco Cumi, patron of Nebbiolo nel Cuore – through tasting tables and dedicated masterclasses and laboratories it will be possible to discover the potential of both the new vintages that will be presented and the new wineries that will participate in the event for the first time. Also in this edition, teaching will be prevalent, thanks to extraordinary masterclasses, aimed at recounting the absolute richness of these lands. Culture, faces, smiles, traditions, life experiences, stories, emotions… this is Nebbiolo Nel Cuore!

Also in this edition, ample space will be given to the Guide on Nebbiolo and its territories of excellence. A vademecum for its users, created by means of an APP.

During the presentation, diplomas will be awarded to the producers of the labels that have obtained the most important recognitions of excellence: Il Grappolo oro – wines that have obtained the maximum score (the assigned bunches were bronze, silver or gold); Il Coup de Cour – wines that have obtained the gold bunch and that are also endowed with unique and exclusive qualities, so much so as to arouse a strong emotional impact.

A new feature regarding the awards for this edition: diplomas will also be awarded for some categories of excellence that the editorial staff, also in consideration of the evaluations that emerged during the tasting sessions carried out, deemed necessary to be mentioned given the great value expressed.
