Over 80 wine producers, representing the 8 Denominations of Controlled Origin present in Liguria: Rossese di Dolceacqua, Ormeasco di Pornassio, the Western Ligurian Riviera, Valpolcevera, the Gulf of Tigullio-Portofino, the hills of Levanto, the Cinque Terre and the hills of Luni. Sestri Levante (GE) will give life Sunday 21 and Monday 22 May in the former Convent of the Annunziata in the Bay of Silence of Sestri Levante a Mare&Mosto – The Suspended Vineyards, the event organized by Ais Liguria – Italian Sommelier Association dedicated to wine, oil and the flavors of the Ligurian territory.
The event is back in style with two days of conferences, workshops and tastings for an audience of enthusiasts and professionals, four pavilions dedicated to Ligurian wine, oil, gastronomy and a non-territorial guest. “The two richest tracks, wine and oil – explains the vice president of the Liguria Region with responsibility for Agriculture and Territorial Marketing Alessandro Piana – represent Liguria from east to west, through great classics and various novelties. In this eighth edition, in addition to comparisons with other realities, including the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, and the prestigious Best Sommelier of Liguria award, we will present the new strategies to support the sector and also the census we have started on the heroic and historic vineyards of our region. It is in fact possible from 1 June to 1 July to submit applications for registration on the list. In addition to becoming a source of information and data over time, the register will give priority in the allocation of funds for the restructuring and modernization of vineyards. At the same time we have established the regional list of 'Vigna' terms for the presentation and designation of wines with protected designation of origin (PDO). This is to enhance the perception of our excellence and the link between identity and territory".

In the more than three thousand square meters of exhibition, the main hall, as usual, will be entirely dedicated to the regional wine production, where wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet the companies present in Liguria and taste their products. An ad hoc space will be reserved for oil producers, with samplings and tastings of one of the excellent products of the Ligurian region. On the panoramic terrace of the Annunziata, overlooking the sea, there will be a large food area with the main gastronomic excellences of Liguria. A separate pavilion, as per tradition, will be dedicated to a non-regional wine reality: this year the choice fell on the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, present during the two days with about thirty producers and protagonist of an interesting educational tasting. The rooms on the upper floors of the Ex Convento dell'Annunziata will instead host masterclasses, tastings and round tables on the most recent regulatory updates and technical innovations in the sector, with guests of absolute importance, buyers and sector media.
