Great international success for a Franciacorta in its first vintage: the Bagnadore Rosé 2011 by Barone Pizzini obtained 98 points on 100 da James Suckling, one of the most renowned wine critics in the world. A result that brings the Classic Italian method to new heights of prestige.
James Suckling described the 2011 Bagnadore Rosé as “one of the best Franciacortas in the best year ever for the denomination. Wonderful to drink now, but with great potential for the long term.” “2011 is the best vintage since my adventure in the world of wine began, that is, since 1994 – he stated Silvano Brescianini, CEO of Barone Pizzini –. And when we understood the real possibility of making an extraordinary bottle, any concerns about the continuity of subsequent vintages were overcome by the firm decision to create a special Reserve despite it being unscheduled. At this point, no one should be upset if the next one will only be 2020." And therefore it should be on the market in 2032.
The Bagnadore Rosé 2011
The Bagnadore Rosé 2011 was born from the innovative vision of Pierjacomo Ghitti, who in 1993, together with a group of friends, took over the company from the Trentino nobles. The wine takes its name from a stream that flows from the hills of Marone and flows into Lake Iseo. Ghitti had the aim of creating a unique wine, characterized by Pinot Noir, barrique e Pas Dosé – a bold and pioneering combination for Franciacorta of those years.
Produced with grapes from Roccolo vineyards e Gremoni in Provaglio, the Bagnadore Rosé 2011 follows a rigorous winemaking process: soft pressing, cold maceration of the whole grapes, fractionation of the musts and fermentation in barrique for eight months. Subsequently, the wine rests on the yeasts for 128 months, developing extraordinary complexity and depth.
An exclusive label worth the wait. The color has a deep salmon tone, on the nose you can perceive floral scents, especially rose, and citrus notes. On the palate it offers a persistent and very thick sip, accompanied by a vibrant freshness. Of notable versatility, it is perfect with baked fish and white meats.
With a limited production At just over 6.000 bottles, of which only 4.000 will be available on the market, the 2011 Bagnadore Rosé is destined to become an object of desire for connoisseurs. “Every future choice will be the result exclusively of a single criterion: exceptional quality. An indispensable prerequisite, but precious to underline how Franciacorta is also a land of successful rosé" concludes Brescianini.
