The latest news of the next Microsoft operating system, Windows 8, will be presented in September, but the version of the software closest to the one destined for sale is already circulating on the network

Windows 8, the latest version is still top secret but already circulating on the net

The network plays tricks on Microsoft. The Milestone 3 version, code 7989, the release of which had to be kept under absolute secrecy, is already in the BitTorrent circuit. Many experts jumped at the opportunity to download and install the operating system of the future. Some have even found the first bugs in the system. The presence of the file, codenamed "6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825.iso", essentially means that the development phase is practically over and that the Microsoft team has moved on to the debug phase.

It is not the first time that the Redmond company has tried unsuccessfully to keep the stages of the creation of its software products hidden from the world. Already in the past, the "Seven" and "Vista" operating systems have been victims of the uncontrolled diffusion on the Internet of the so-called "pre-release" versions.

The point is that now, anyone is able to browse inside the new Windows 8. The first interesting confirmation is that of the Microsoft application store which should behave like the most famous Apple app store, but with an important difference: it seems in fact that, through the online marketplace, it will be possible to "unlock" the operating system by purchasing the license of the various available distributions. In essence, Microsoft has decided to abandon the classic strategy of diversifying the Basic, Home, Professional and Ultimate versions starting from the purchase of the license. This means that, at any time, the user will have the possibility to upgrade his operating system directly online.

Other innovations described by the experts are the controversial (for issues related to user privacy) "log" applied to geolocation, support for SMS and the touchscreen. In the meantime, the market doesn't seem to be eagerly awaiting Microsoft's new operating system. The data from the report "Corporate Desktop Operating System And Browser Trends", prepared by Forrester Research, indicates that the dear old Windows XP is still today the one widely used in offices and only a small part of these intend to update their systems .
