Wind-3: the agreement with Open Fiber on ultrafibre is extended

The fiber agreement between Open Fiber and Wind-Tre for the development in Italy of ultra-broadband connectivity services in the Fiber to the home mode continues and expands from 13 to a further 258 Italian cities. There are therefore 271 cities, included in clusters A and B, where 60% of the Italian population lives.

The partnership, valid until 2024, favors the progressive migration to the Open Fiber network of Wind Tre fixed customers. “The agreement with Wind Tre, one of the main operators in the sector, makes it possible to accelerate the creation of a future-proof communications network in 271 municipalities in the most densely populated areas of Italy and reduce the digital divide of our country compared to to the rest of Europe”, underlined Tommaso Pompei, CEO of Open Fiber. Satisfaction also from Wind Tre: "Our agreement with Open Fiber expands the partnership for a rapid extension of ultra-broadband in 271 cities, guaranteeing competitive and accessible services to our customers and contributing to the digitization of the Italian economy", he declared Jeffrey Hedberg, CEO of Wind Tre.
