Free Wi-Fi in 14 Italian stations: the novelty of Fastweb and Grandi Stazioni

The novelty has already arrived in the 5 main Italian stations and will soon be extended to the other 9 stations of the Grandi Stazioni circuit, the company of the FS Italiane group owned by Eurostazioni which manages the most important railway complexes in Italy. Thanks to the collaboration with Fastweb, the 750 million passengers who transit through the network each year will be able to take advantage of the free Wi-Fi network.

Today it is already possible to navigate for free in the commercial areas of Roma Termini, Roma Tiburtina, Milano Centrale, Napoli Centrale and Torino Porta Nuova and in the coming months it will be extended to the aforementioned areas of the stations of Venice (Santa Lucia and Porta Nuova), Verona, Genoa (Brignole and Piazza Principe), Bologna, Florence, Bari and Palermo. In addition to the normal internet connection, the service will allow access to the portfolio of digital and proximity services offered by Grandi Stazioni.

As previously mentioned, access to the Internet will be completely free and anyone will be able to navigate via smartphone, tablet or laptop. Travelers will be able to connect to Wi-Fi by directly accessing the web portal of Grandi Stazioni, or via the Around Station app compatible with Android and iOS.

Paul Gallo, The Chief Executive Officer of Grandi Stazioni declared: “We are very pleased to be able to enrich the range of services offered to our visitors in this way. The agreement with Fastweb allows us, already today, to be able to offer the service to over 60% of the visitors and passengers transiting through our stations. We will soon be extending the service to the rest of our network, allowing all our customers to access a service that is essential today for work, family life and leisure. Furthermore, with the added value of our applications, traveling and passing through the station will be even faster and more pleasant".
