Whatsapp lands on the computer

WhatsApp arrives on computers. The messaging service for smartphones, widely used, is also ready in its desktop version: the announcement was made by the company itself, through a post on Facebook. To receive and send messages to your computer, you don't need to install any software, but simply open a browser window where the conversations taking place via smartphone appear.

In the latest update available for the app, in fact, there is a new item in the settings menu that allows you to associate a specific account with a computer in order to send and receive messages through a web page. To avoid security problems, activation of the web profile takes place by scanning a QR code visible on the website.whatsapp.com to be captured with the phone's camera.

The novelty, however, is currently limited to some operating systems. According to what was declared by the CEO of Whatsapp Jan Koum, in fact, the chat via web, at the moment, is not yet compatible with Apple-branded smartphones, due to some limitations of the iPhone operating system.

Maximum compatibility, however, with Android, Windows Phone and also for Blackberry, provided you have the latest version of Whatsapp installed, and with Google Chrome for Mac and PC. As for the increasingly widespread Whatsapp brand, the great expectation is for voice calls on the Skype model, which, according to the company's announcement last year, are coming soon.
