Corporate welfare: Generali Italia launches Welfare Index PMI 2018

Presentation of the third Annual Report at the Salone Delle Fontane in Rome and awarding of the best welfare projects – The 10 interviews, in three years, with SMEs in the 6 production sectors show a growth trend of companies active in the welfare sector.

"Spreading the culture of corporate welfare to encourage the use of good welfare practices among small and medium-sized enterprises". This is the objective of Welfare Index PMI, the initiative – now in its third edition – promoted by Generali Italia, with the participation of the major Italian confederations: Confindustria, Confagricoltura, Confartigianato and Confprofessioni.

"After three years, the success of the initiative is still growing, as demonstrated by the involvement in the survey of over 4.000 companies in 2018, 20% more than last year", explains the note from Generali Italia

With 10 thousand companies interviewed in the three editions, the research conducted by Innovation Team aims to achieve an increasingly complete mapping of the diffusion of corporate welfare in Italy.

In recent years, the Welfare Index PMI has also offered companies a free service to measure their level of welfare through the platform www.welfareindexpmi.it, where entrepreneurs can also access tax and regulatory news on corporate welfare.

“The 4.014 companies involved this year – explains the Leone company – are assigned the Rating Welfare Index PMI, which groups companies into 5 classes with an increasing value from 1W to 5W. The aim is to allow companies to know one's level of welfare and communicate it in an immediately recognizable way, making the commitment to welfare a competitive advantage. The 38 companies that this year obtained the 5W (compared to 22 in 2017) are stories of excellence, which stand out for having implemented a wide range of initiatives for the well-being of workers and their families, often through original and innovative".

Welfare Index PMI is aimed at companies in 6 sectors – agriculture, industry, crafts, commerce and services, studies and professional services and the third sector – and examines companies in the range between 6 and 1000 employees.

The novelties of welfare in Italy will be illustrated in the "Pmi 2018 Welfare Index Report", which will be presented on April 10 in Rome at the Salone Delle Fontane, located in the center of Eur. During the presentation event - sponsored by the Presidency of the Council - the first three classified for each sector will be awarded and 4 special mentions will be awarded to the best small and medium-sized enterprises in various fields.
