Bad news for the weekend on the side weather: it will be characterized by an uncertain and cool climate, with scattered rainfall and temperatures below the seasonal average. However, the Maltempo could extend beyond the weekend itself, until the 25 April and perhaps even until May 1st, due to the arrival of cold air from Northern Europe, which will lead to a drop in temperatures and an increase in the frequency of thunderstorms. However, for lovers of INFO, there is good news coming. In the mountains of Lazio, such as Terminillo, Monte Livata and Campo Staffi, a snowfall is expected, while in the Alps the snow could fall to around 800/1000 meters above sea level. Even on the Apennines, at relatively low altitudes for the period, white flakes are expected. But let's see them in detail weather forecast from Milan to Rome.
Weather: here is the forecast for the weekend of April 20th and 21st
A new cold pulse will cross the Alps today, Saturday April 20. This will bring increased cloud cover to the Northeast and Central regions, with scattered rain possible. In the afternoon, widespread instability is expected, with showers and thunderstorms in the Veneto Prealps, Emilia Romagna and central and southern regions. The regions of the North-West and the Major Islands remain predominantly sunny. But the northern winds will intensify in particular over Tuscany, Lazio, Marche, Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia and Calabria. As for Rome and Milan, a cold but mostly rainless weekend is expected.
Sunday April 21 the bad weather will again hit the Marche, Abruzzo and Molise with intense phenomena, the anomalous cold will favor further widespread snowfalls on the central Apennines up to around 1200 metres. And, a bit like Saturday, some showers are expected on Sunday too in the southern peninsula and in Emilia Romagna, although a worsening is also expected towards the North-West and thunderstorms in the Centre-South. But the real twist will concern the temperature, which will continue to remain below average, especially in the North, with values close to zero in the early morning on the northern plains.
Weather: what will the weather be like on April 25th?
Between Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 April, the disturbance coming from Scandinavia will also involve the Centre-South, bringing a new drop in temperatures. At least until April 25th, the atmosphere will remain decidedly unstable, especially in the central regions, with the possibility of frequent thundershowers (including hail) and temperatures below the period in a rather cold climate, with later winter characteristics that do not so springlike. The instability will persist until the end of the month, putting at risk another bridge, that of May 1.
