In weekend will arriveautunno, and will bring with it a drop in temperature and lots of rain. Precisely in correspondence with the autumnal equinox (September 23rd) summer will also come to an end in the South. In the North, however, it already seems like autumn and the conditions weather they will get even worse due to two disturbances, the current one and another more intense one arriving on Friday. Be careful, there could be some surprises next week.
Experts confirm the arrival of the first disturbance: from the Iberian Peninsula an unstable nucleus will bring an initial worsening to the Centre-North with rain but also thunderstorms, especially from the afternoon. A second disturbance, which will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms on Friday, will descend from Scotland to Italy: persistent rain is expected in the North and in part of the Center on Thursday and Friday. In the South, however, it will still be very hot for the period but it will be the last day.
The weekend will mark the turning point: from Saturday 23 September all of Italy will experience a drop widespread of temperature, especially in Sicily where we will have an average drop of 7-8 degrees, from 35°C to 27-28°C.

Thursday September 21st. Scattered rain in the North, widespread in the Centre, especially on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Hot African in the South. La Civil protection of Lazio issued aAlert weather also valid in the Pontine area from the early hours of the morning and for the following 12-18 hours. Specifically, the document reports the forecast of "isolated to scattered rainfall, including showers or thunderstorms, with cumulative quantities ranging from weak to regularly moderate".
Friday September 22st. Heavy rain in the North, scattered locally in the Centre, while it will be more intense in Tuscany. Cloudy south, still hot in Sicily.
Saturday 23rd September. Probable showers and thunderstorms in the extreme North-East, Lazio, Campania, Umbria, central Adriatic regions and western Sicily. Only a few brief showers will be possible on Sardinia and in the rest of the Centre-North. In the late evening it also worsens in the far south and in Emilia-Romagna. Mistral winds strengthening in Sardinia.
Sunday September 24th. Probable sunny spells in the North-West, widespread rain in the North-East and Emilia-Romagna, more intense in Romagna, but easing during the day. In the Centre-South and on the Islands, variable conditions with showers and thunderstorms in the morning in the south of Puglia, rain in Marche and northern Tuscany. Possible isolated showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon over Lazio and eastern Sardinia.
The surprise could arrive next week with an upside-down Italy: rains and thunderstorms in the South, while in the North the comeback of a gigantic anticyclone is expected which will hit all of Central Europe.
