Wall Street, S&P 500 on record after jobs data: breached the 1.600 mark

I job data they send Wall Street soaring, which marks a new all-time high. At the start of trades the S&P 500 index passed the 1.600 mark (+1,06%, to 1.614,52): a record that comes 13 years after the first close above the 1.500 level. Leading the increases are financial stocks (+1,5%) and commodities (+1,37%). The Dow Jones instead it rises by almost a point, one step away from the psychological threshold of 1.500. The Nasdaq it increases by 1,13%, to 3.378,46. Oil in June jumped by 1,16%, to 95,08 dollars a barrel.

Among the declines, the stocks of in particular disappoint LinkedIn, down nearly eight points after yesterday's quarterly, and Moody's (-3%), which slips despite accounts better than estimates. The insurance giant At gains more than 4% after the quarter's numbers (+4,15%).

The day's news on markets pertains to last month's employment data, when 165 jobs were created in the US, well above the 148 expected by analysts. The unemployment rate thus fell from 7,6 to 7,5%, the lowest figure since December 2008, while experts expected no change. The March data has also been revised upwards: from the previously estimated 88 jobs it has risen to 138.

Numbers that have also revived the European Stock Exchanges. Mid-afternoon Business Square, after hours in the swing, earns more than half a point. Positive too London (+ 1%), Paris (+ 1%) and Frankfurt (+1,5%). Meanwhile, the Btp-Bund spread travels below 260 points, in the wake of the new reduction in interest rates decided yesterday by the European Central Bank.

On the Milan stock exchange, the best stocks are those of Pirelli (+3,62%), Finmeccanica (+2,84%), Tenaris (+2,17%), Buzzi Unicem (+1,87%) and Fiat Industrial ( +1,78%). At the bottom of the Ftse Mib are the shares of Diasorin (-1,33%), Campari (-0,73%), A2A (-0,71%), Atlantia (-0,59%) and Terna (-0,34 ,XNUMX%).
