Vw, Dieselgate: compensations requested for 8,2 billion

Dieselgate continues to haunt Volkswagen. More than 1.400 German investors have filed a $8,2 billion claim for damages against the automaker in Brunswick court. In particular, institutional investors asked for a total of two billion, while private individuals asked for 6,2 billion.

Among the first there is also the Blackrock fund, which, "on behalf of its investors - explained a spokesman - has taken legal action against Volkswagen for not having declared the use of devices aimed at manipulating emissions tests" .

State Street, Nordea Asset Management, the California State Teachers' Retirement System (the California teachers' retirement fund) and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund have also filed the lawsuit together with the American fund.

Although Volkswagen was asked about diesel emissions in 2014, it only disclosed in September 2015 that 11 million of its vehicles were equipped with software that could trick emissions test results.
