"Vote in the centre-left primaries but without illusions: renewal is something else"

CONFESSIONS OF A DISENCHANTING ELECTRICIAN - "I'm not a member of the Democratic Party but today I'm going to vote for Renzi without having many illusions: the parties are too closed in on themselves and I don't rule out voting Grillo in protest at the next elections - but this is the only one opportunity for a citizen without a card to indicate the premier he would like and I don't want to lose it "

"Vote in the centre-left primaries but without illusions: renewal is something else"

I voted in the Pd primaries and today I will express mine preference for Renzi also in the ballot. It is a right that I acquired by registering on the site a few weeks ago. I am not a member of the Democratic Party and I am not sure whether I will vote for this party in the elections, especially if my favorite candidate does not win, but I think it is my right to express an opinion, especially in such a confused and uncertain political context. In fact, this could be the only opportunity I have to choose a candidate for prime minister, given the collapse of the pdl and the uncertain waters in which the nascent center is navigating. I do not exclude that, in the secrecy of the ballot box, in the end I will opt for Grillo, as a protest vote, rather than leaving a blank ballot or completely renouncing the my only right in a democracy: the vote.

In my situation there are millions of people: disappointed, worried, aware that the political banners are not the same as they were many years ago and which are not the same as those waved at the stadium. Today we can, indeed, must, change team if the one we "rooted for" up to that moment does not offer us sufficient guarantees for the future. At stake is not the championship but our lives.

In this context, I believe that the Democratic Party should have shown itself to be much more flexible and aware of the fact that "ideologies" have faded. More ecumenical, able to accommodate the many requests that come from the country and that Bersani on the one hand and Renzi on the other somehow manage to embody. Instead, the Democratic Party, or rather whoever leads that party today and writes the rules, i.e. essentially Bersani, was afraid of all this. Fear of being part of a party that looks beyond the traditional secretary line. So we have an open party in the primaries, but only to the extent that we're sure they're not really a surprise. This is why many last-minute "Renzians" will not be able to go and vote. Those who did not move last Sunday, convinced that there was no room for a real alternative, will not be able to move even now that hope of the runoff has been lit, unless they invent excuses and submit to the severe and unanimous judgment of the electoral committee .

The primaries of the Democratic Party are open to those who do not vote for politics, sixteen-year-olds and resident foreigners, but they are not open to Italian citizens who simply would like to contribute to a choice that directly affects them. Strange way of understanding democracy. I believe that I will also participate in the primaries of the pdl, if they ever take place, convinced that I am right and in my full rights, given that I am not a member of any party. I am not a "fan", but a con voter a great need for politics to really renew itself. We, from below, are trying. Did they notice it on the high peaks?
