Today and tomorrow, Banco BPM's corporate volunteering project, Volontariamo, stops in Monticello Brianza in the province of Lecco. Banco BPM employees who have joined the project are involved, as volunteers in support of the Il Volo Onlus social cooperative.

Starting today, fourteen Banco BPM employees, divided over these two days, will shed their role as bank employees to put on comfortable shoes and clothes to proceed with the whitewashing and subsequent cleaning of some rooms in Villa Ratti.

The Il Volo Onlus cooperative, founded in 2000 on the initiative of some volunteers and mental health professionals, deals with the creation of structures and services for the care and social reintegration of young people with serious mental disorders. The main activity of the cooperative is the management of the therapeutic-rehabilitative community of Villa Ratti, where about twenty patients aged between 18 and 35 are hosted.

With the Volontariamo project, Banco BPM participates in corporate volunteering by making approximately 2017 working days available to employees throughout 500 to devote to volunteering activities in collaboration with various non-profit organizations located throughout the country. This is the first initiative involving all the employees of the new Group since Banco BPM was created on 1 January from the merger of Banco Popolare and Banca Popolare di Milano.

Corporate volunteering is a project with which the company encourages, supports and organizes the active and concrete participation of its staff in the life of local communities through collaboration with various associations. It is possible to participate in numerous proposed activities: from the painting of reception rooms to service at solidarity canteens, from the sorting of clothes, toys and food products at warehouses to interventions to protect the environment.

The initiative that has already made stops at the Ronda della Carità in Verona, at the Empori Solidali in Bologna, at the canteen of the Brothers of San Francesco in Milan, in Monza where it supported the solidarity competition for the LILT, is now making a stop in Monticello Brianza , to then continue over the next few months until reaching the cities in which Banco BPM is present throughout Italy, thus making its proximity to the reference territories felt.

Banco BPM thus takes up the legacy of Banca Popolare di Milano, which has already been committed since 2015 to the active participation of its employees in support of non-profit organizations. The project, which is aimed at all employees, has in the past had the merit of bringing some of them into continuous voluntary work, including the youngest, adding value to a sector which notoriously involves above all older age groups, people retired and with more time on their hands.
