Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Management Board of the Volkswagen Group, will remain Chairman of the Management Board of Wolfsburg until the end of 2018, in line with expectations. The supervisory board has in fact proposed to extend the mandate of Winterkorn who will thus have to deal with the objectives set by the group in the "Strategy 2018" plan.
So the chairman of the supervisory board, Berthold Huber. Winterkorn prevailed last spring in the confrontation with the former chairman of the board of VW, Ferdinand Piech, already receiving the support of the supervisory board, which had called him "the best possible chairman of the management board" and had dismissed criticism from Piech, who eventually left the group.
