Volkswagen, record sales in 2011: +14,3%

Fly the Volkswagen: auto sales rose 14,3% in 2011, setting a new record for the German group. The Wolfsburg-based company placed 8,16 million cars, exceeding the growth of the global market, equal to 5,1%, and increasing its share. In December, the increase was equal to 19,1%, to 650 units.

Christian Klinger, Member of the Management Board of the German Group for Sales, he specified that “all our brands have recorded an increase in earnings, in difficult conditions, on volatile markets. However, a very busy year awaits us. The risks on the European markets, in particular, will multiply in 2012. However, the Volkswagen group is well positioned and well prepared to face the next challenges and to play a leading role on world markets”.
