Volkswagen presented in Germany i plans to fix all models affected by Dieselgate, the scandal linked to the software that for years has rigged the data on CO2 emissions. This was announced today by Alexander Dobrindt, German Minister of Transport, in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt. 

“All the technical solutions for the 1,2, 1,6 and 2,0 liter engines were presented to my investigative commission – said the minister –. I believe that the transformation plans are positive”.

Following these statements, the Volkswagen title it soared on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, earning 4,8%, to 140.70 euros. 

The automaker had until tonight to submit plans, which they must now be examined and evaluated by the Commission of Inquiry, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the German Motor Vehicles KBA and independent experts. 

"There is still no definitive go-ahead from the KBA for the plans to put the three engines in order," a member of the investigative commission told the newspaper.

Dobrindt also said the ministry is putting pressure on VW to "damages are repaired as soon as possible. The customers involved must not be harmed at all."
