Il Volkswagen brand set a new sales record in 2012. In fact, the new registrations of the German company amounted to 5,74 million units, up 12,7% year-on-year. This was communicated by the company itself, in a press release in which it specifies that in the month of December alone, the growth over the same month in 2011 was 30,6%, to 517.900.
In Western Europe, sales in 2012 marked a decline of 6,9% to 844.500, while in Eastern Europe there was an increase of 22,4% to 267.100. Excellent results for Volkswagen in China, with a 24,8% growth in registrations to 2,15 million. The company forecasts 2013 as "a very challenging year".
