Volkswagen: irregularities on another 800 diesel cars

A “preliminary estimate points to economic risks of approximately 2 billion euros” – Board to immediately enter into dialogue with authorities on consequences of these further findings

Volkswagen: irregularities on another 800 diesel cars

The internal investigation of Volkswagen after Dieselgate reveals further irregularities on CO2 emissions related to another 800 vehicles. The German group communicates this, adding that a reliable assessment of the extent of these irregularities is not yet possible, but that a "preliminary estimate indicates economic risks of approximately 2 billion euros".

The Board will immediately initiate a dialogue with the authorities regarding the consequences of these further findings and these checks could lead to a reliable estimate of the legal and consequently economic impacts.

In agreement with the authorities, Volkswagen will clarify how it intends to proceed (in any case as quickly as possible) and will ensure the correct classification in terms of CO2 of the vehicles affected by the irregularities.

Furthermore, yesterday, the news had arrived from the United States of a new proceeding against Volkswagen on the tricked emissions by cars with 6-litre V3 TDI diesel engines. Here you can see the models under accusation
