Vodafone Italia-unions: there is an agreement, avoiding 1.300 redundancies

Defensive solidarity for 4.870 Vodafone Italia workers, recourse to voluntary and incentivized mobility for 570 workers, professional reconversions for 320 employees full-time equivalent and a hiring plan for 300 people over the next three years. These are the numbers of the agreement reached between Vodafone Italia and the unions to avert the 1.300 redundancies identified in the company. The news was released by the Radiocor press agency, which consulted the minutes of the meeting.

In detail, professional reconversions will concern “a minimum of 320 full-time equivalent - reads the document - with reference to the areas of customer care, network, finance, consumer and corporate security to be completed by October 2020".

The defensive solidarity contract will be applied "to 4.870 workers of Vodafone Italia spa alone".

Incentivized and voluntary mobility will take place through the mechanism of non-opposition to the collective dismissal procedure for 570 employees "considered overall between Vodafone Italia spa and Vodafone Gestioni spa".

The recruitment plan for the next three years of around 300 workers is "aimed at strengthening the company relaunch strategy for the development of 5G, new business services and digital transformation".

In the coming days, Vodafone workers will be called to express their opinion in the meetings.

Meanwhile, the unions say they are satisfied with the agreement reached. According to Riccardo Saccone, national secretary of the Slc Cgil, “this is the real advance bargaining: we are trying to manage the transformation with intelligent use of all tools, including social safety nets. For us it is a point of reference in the sector”.
