Vodafone Italia reaches 5 million 4G customers

Vodafone Italy ended the quarter ended December 31, 2015 (the third quarter of the fiscal year) with revenues from services equal to 1.291 million euros, with an improvement of 1,7 percentage points compared to the quarter ended September 30, 2015. The figure is instead in slight decline on an annual basis: -0,3%, on the way back revenues from mobile services grew, albeit not significantly, to 1,09 billion euros (+0,1%).

The number of 4G customers increases by 1 million in the quarter, reaching 5 million. The growth in data consumption (+56%) is driven by the constant increase in smartphones on the Vodafone network (+11% to 12 million). Fixed network revenues amounted to 201 million euros. Fixed broadband customers amounted to 1,91 million, up 9%.

4G coverage reaches over 94% of the population in more than 5.900 municipalities, of which over 700 in 4G+. Tests conducted by the independent research company P3 Communications have certified Vodafone Italia's mobile network as a leader in voice and data services. Fiber services are available in 177 cities and reach over 7 million households, of which 3 million on their own fiber optic network.
