The first phase of selection of the call Think for Social promoted by Vodafone Italy Foundation with the aim of rewarding the most innovative projects that use technology as a tool for social development. There were 400 applications, but only 20 teams took part in the Innovation Weekend, at the end of which there was the presentation of the works to the jury chaired by the president of the Vodafone Italia Foundation, Alex Zanardi. There are 10 projects that will have access to a 4-month acceleration program within PoliHub and will receive a seed grant of up to 30 euros.
Here they are:
– #Skool, a high-tech hub for learning people with special educational needs (Turin)
– Bepart, augmented reality platform that allows anyone to show their art (Milan)
– Breading Apps, B2B platform to optimize food surpluses (Monza and Brianza)
– Clip4All, a do-it-yourself kit to allow people with disabilities to independently build their own PC and tablet access tools (Bologna)
– D-Heart, electrocardiogram via smartphone (Genoa)
– Energy Wise Communities, domestic electricity consumption monitoring system (Turin)
– Eli, a bracelet for the simultaneous interpretation of sign language (Rome)
– Social Eating for Social Inclusion, a project that combines social inclusion with the enhancement of local agricultural production (Naples)
– Students on stage, web portal that brings students closer to the world of work (Milan)
– Veyes, wearable hardware project, with belt and glasses to favor visually impaired/blind people (Catania)
The next appointment is for the final event in November, in which the finalists will present the results achieved and the 3 best projects will access a further growth grant of up to 700 euros to finance their development and growth.
