Vodafone's connectivity is integrated into the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide eCall/ACN (Emergency Call/Automatic Collision Notification) system and uses the network to receive assistance or rescue in the event of an accident as quickly as possible, thus improving road traffic safety. To date, more than 2,5 million BMW cars are connected via the Vodafone network.

The system developed by BMW has various sensors that monitor the speed and performance of the motorcycle, in order to immediately activate the emergency call, thanks to the Vodafone IoT SIM located under the seat. According to calculations, the Motorrad ConnectedRide eCall system allows the assistance services to reduce the time of arrival at the scene of the accident by around 50%.
