Vodafone: from this summer 4G roaming in 18 countries

Surf on smartphones with hyper-fast internet roaming almost everywhere. This is the goal of Vodafone, which has made it known that it is on its way to becoming the largest network with 4G roaming service in 18 countries starting from the summer of 2014, at the same price as 3G roaming services

The mobile operator currently offers 4G roaming service on its networks in Italy, Greece, Portugal, Romania and Spain. From this summer, there will also be Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Great Britain. In addition, Vodafone customers will be able to use the 4G networks of other telephone companies in Austria, Belgium, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Switzerland.

“4G is great for travellers, whether they are on vacation or abroad for work – said Paolo Bertoluzzo, Chief commercial and operations officer of Vodafone – Faster, easier to use and often less expensive than the wi-fi connections of European hotels, 4G roaming will offer high-speed connections for video, music streaming, web browsing and much more wherever you are, from the airport to the café”.

The company has said it has accelerated its plans for 4G roaming: it will invest £7 billion in its networks and services by March 2016.
