Vodafone, 300 municipalities reached by mobile broadband

Three hundred Municipalities reached by Vodafone broadband 300 days after the launch of the "1000 Municipalities" project: one municipality a day, in fact. For a total of over 340.000 citizens throughout Italy who finally have access to the Internet.

This is the objective that Vodafone is announcing today, explaining that 140 Municipalities of the North-West have been reached (146 inhabitants), 51 Municipalities in the North-East (61 inhabitants), 63 Municipalities in the Center (61 inhabitants) and 50 Municipalities in the South (71 inhabitants).

According to Vodafone, mobile broadband is proving to be the most appropriate tool to bridge the digital divide in Italy, because it allows you to cover even the most isolated areas of the country quickly and efficiently. With a 1 billion euro plan to bring broadband via radio throughout Italy, the project continues at the rate of one municipality per day until it covers at least 1000 municipalities over the next two years.
