"Voices, visions, adventures": a festival of poetry, theater and painting in Bondo (Tn)

The festival conceived and directed by the poet and playwright Roberto Mussapi and produced by Mario Zanetti will open in the ancient church of San Barnaba on July 25th.

The “Voices, visions, adventures” festival conceived and directed by Roberto Mussapi, well-known poet and playwright, opens on Saturday 25 July 2015 at 17 pm in the Ancient Church of San Barnaba in Bondo (Tn) with the inauguration of the exhibition “Omar Galliani. In light and shadows". He's a festival of poetry, theater and painting produced by Mario Zanetti of the Zanetti Art Studio which will unfold between two exhibition centres: the ancient church of San Barnaba in Bondo (Tn) and the Art Studio in Bagolino (Bs).  "The voice of theatre, poetry and art come together in a festival of total experience" underlines the event's artistic director Mussapi.

The exhibition that kicks off the festival will see a large selection of the artist's recent pictorial work Omar Galliani set up until 13 September in the two exhibition venues of Bondo and Bagolino. Roberto Mussapi, who during the inauguration will interpret the poem "The painter's vision", which he composed for the catalog that will accompany the exhibition, explains: "I chose the artist Omar Galliani mainly for the unique strength of his pictorial style, which manifests the mystery of the deep through the perfection of the surface. The skin, we know, is the part of the body closest to the brain”.

The busy and interesting calendar of events and meetings that make up the festival will then continue throughout the month of August, always starting at 21 pm. Robert Moussapi – whose theatrical work for the stage and radio is vast – explains some of his choices that outline the festival's appointments: “in this review – in which I strongly believe, and which a man out of the ordinary like Mario Zanetti has welcomed and wanted to immediately, challenging the difficult times we are living with the forces of the spirit - I chose actors of the highest level and accustomed to the relationship with the poetic word. Popolizio who brings a fascinating original work of his, was Christ, and then Othello, in two of my plays in verse. Miriam Mesturino has interpreted and staged for years The Blue Grotto, perhaps my best monologue in verse. Manuela Mandracchia works excellently on Greek tragedy, on her own behalf. Here for each of the two actresses I have packaged a monologue including verses from all times. The aim is to merge depth and simplicity of assimilation. Making theatre, making soul”. Mussapi, who has a deep relationship with the world of the stage, adds: “Antarctica, which I will personally interpret, in line with my activity as a narrator, is the reduction  theatrical, in the form of a monologue, of my poem Antarctica, with which I resume the epic poem. The reduction was made for the Krypton company, staged a few years ago, starring Virginio Gazzolo, directed by Giancarlo Cauteruccio. This is the first scenic shot in a long time. I'm looking for the recovery of the epic, of the narration, as well as of the dramatic genre”.

Mario Zanetti, owner of the Studio d'Arte Zanetti gallery, a lively cultural enterprise that carries out projects for the development and cooperation between the territories, explains the origin of the collaboration between the two exhibition centers he manages, the result of his happy intuition which gave life to this widespread festival: "Bondo, a municipality in the province of Trento, and Bagolino, an ancient medieval village in the province of Brescia, are united by the particular public-private synergy that I started in 2011 with the administration of the municipality of Bondo". Zanetti goes on to underline that "characters such as Gianni Berengo Gardin, Alessandro Bergonzoni, Mario Botta, Maurizio Cucchi, Philippe Daverio, Franca Grisoni, Franco Loi, Davide Rondoni, Elisabetta Sgarbi, Vittorio Sgarbi, works by Ciro Roberto Cipollone, Tonino Guerra, Roy Lichtenstein, Mimmo Paladino, Tullio Pericoli, Antonio Stagnoli, Velasco Vitali, Andy Wharol, just to name a few, have come and gone in recent years in these two small communities far from large inhabited centres, attracting numerous visitors and tourists, proving that the diffusion of art and beauty has no borders and limits”.
