Next February 7th there will be the hearing on the merits set by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court to examine the Vivendi's appeal against Agcom's decision on the French group's shares in Mediaset and Telecom Italia.
On the website of the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio we read that Vivendi filed, on 4 July 2017, the request for waiver of the precautionary measure which should have been discussed on 12 July in the council chamber.
The French company led by Vincent Bollorè has a very specific objective: to annul the resolution of the guarantor authority which obliges the group to lighten its stake in Telecom Italia or Mediaset. Vivendi affirms that it does not have control of Mediaset and that the Agcom provision aims at penalize the integration of telecommunications and media, direction considered physiological by Vivendi.
For Antitrust purposes, the EU has authorized Vivendi's "de facto" control over Tim, however forcing the telephone group to to sell the subsidiary Persidera.
To date, vivendi holds about 24% of Tim and just under 30% of Mediaset.
