Visual Art: M9 presents 6 event days 50 years after the moon landing

A visionary video installation designed and created by the internationally renowned director and video artist Fabio Massimo Iaquone for M9 – Museum of the '900 of Mestre, opens on Saturday 8 February “In space – meetings a few steps from the Moon”, six event-days 50 years after the moon landing: 8 February, 7 March, 18 April 2020 in the company of astrophysicists, astronauts, science communicators, youtubers, "space" chefs, film directors and 3-4-5 April 2020 with “Holodeck”, the virtual experience created by Bigrock.

Fabio Massimo Iaquone director and video artist among the most famous in Italy and abroad (he has recently co-created the theatrical show on Margherita Hack Variations on the sky and curated the video release of Marco Goldin's new exhibition on Van Gogh), he created for M9 a exclusive video installation transforming the architecture of the museum itself into art, expanding the horizons of the gaze and the boundaries of space that accompany the observer in existential and metaphysical dimensions.

It was the July 20, 1969 when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon. More than half a century has passed since that day. Over many years, science and technology have changed man's relationship with the cosmos. Today the Moon seems closer, and in a certain sense it is, just think that in the next mission to Mars it could be the intermediate stage to try to reach the red planet.

"In Space – Meetings a few steps from the Moon” invites the public to M9 to embark on a unique "spatial" journey, meet young astrophysicists who collaborate with NASA, chefs who have studied perfect foods for astronauts, youtubers who bring young people closer to the world of science and its history, astronauts who space have spent days and days between discoveries and unexpected events, directors who have tried to tell with emotions what happens when you move away from the Earth.

astronaut Paul Nespoli will lead us into humanity's most extraordinary adventure: crossing the last border on Earth. With "Astropaolo" we will discover the meaning and experience a few meters from our satellite: the Moon and the dream of reaching it.

At the same time, Venetian astrophysics Sara Buson he will illustrate a recent scientific achievement that also bears his signature: he has in fact contributed to the discovery of the first source of cosmic neutrinos, coming from a very distant black hole. He will tell us about his work at NASA and the significance of this discovery for science.

In addition to the video installation, Fabius Maximus Iaquone will propose the documentary Infinity Hack, beyond infinity, a work that rekindles the memory of the scientist who changed history, Daisy Hack. Italian astrophysics will be at the center of a psychedelic and experimental symphony.

The mysterious, bewitching, intoxicating charm of the Moon could not fail to narrate a scientist who has made her life a journey of discovery, study, dedication as Patrizia Caraveo. Astrophysics will tell us why we are all Conquered by the Moon; after all, he dedicated his latest book to this theme. The story of a fatal attraction, the one that for centuries has poetically linked humanity's gaze to the white earth satellite.

If today, fifty years after the moon landing, the Moon is always at the center of the discussion, in 2069 also Rat-Man will carry out a mission to this satellite: the famous character invented by the cartoonist Leo Ortolani is the protagonist of Luna 2069, a special volume that its author will tell in M9, making us experience the dreams and hopes of an astronaut 100 years after the first moon landing.

Where to go, what to do, what to see in Space? Angelo Pittro, director of the famous Lonely Planet, will tell us about the new guide Universe, accompanying us on the most adventurous of journeys with different eyes, to the ends of the solar system. If the guide will tell us what there is to see in the cosmos, the "space chef" Stephen Polato instead he will tell us what is on an astronaut's menu, explaining the secrets of the foods he carefully prepares for crew members and their missions.

Always captured by the charm of the stars and new technologies, the well-known face of television, as well as radio host, Daniel Bossari, will instead open the casket of his memories and experiences related to the unfathomable and spirituality of the universe. The attraction for the mysteries of the cosmos and space exploration: when passions mix with science. Bossari is an expert in stones and new technologies and from them he has obtained a personal path of study and insights.

Everything you need to know before becoming an astronaut will reveal to us Luca Perri, astrophysicist and astronomer, star of the network; because if your dream is to travel to space, you better know what to expect. With his Rocket departures, and an eye to the world of boys, will give us an adventure among the funniest unexpected events in the history of space exploration.

Adrian Fartade, the youtuber with thousands of followers, science popularizer, and science historian, will illustrate the scenarios that 2069 will open up with the new space explorations, and the possible surprising goals that humanity can reach a century after the first small big step on the Moon .

Space is also sounds, notes, melody: as a soundtrack to such a journey, the notes of an artist who more than any other is the "starman" of music: David Bowie, the White Duke. Four years after his death, the charm of someone who has been able to interpret the relationship between man and the infinite remains intact, and the journalist and music critic Gio Alajmo will dedicate to the rock star of the stars a special portrait.

A trip "In the space” that young people, children, families, everyone, will be able to do, together with these great names in science and dissemination.
