Growing profits and revenues for Visa, which beats analysts' estimates. In the fiscal first quarter, the credit card group posted profits of $1,29 billion, up 25,9% from the same period a year earlier ($1,03 billion).
In terms of earnings per share, the figure went from $1,49 to $1,93. The market was expecting a result of $1,79 per share. As for turnover, it increased by 12%, from 2,55 to 2,85 billion dollars, exceeding expectations, which stopped at 2,8 billion.
Before the publication of the accounts, which came after markets closed, the stock gained 0,81%, to 160,82 dollars. In the after-hours segment, however, it lost about 1%. Over the past 12 months, however, Visa shares have rallied more than 49%.
