Wine: it is recovering, not only open cellars but also vineyards open for lunches and picnics

Come back to presence Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 Mayme the most eagerly awaited appointment by millions of wine enthusiasts, "Cantine Aperte" the event that has carved out an important place in the hearts of wine lovers, to the point of becoming a meeting point capable of moving the faithful towards the cellars of the members of the Movimento Turismo del Vino. With an important novelty: Cantine Aperte 2021 opens to the "right of reply": in addition to the classic weekend at the end of May, in fact, in the Regions that have not yet obtained the yellow color and for those who want to do an encore, the initiative will be repeated The 19 and 20 June.

“Already last year we were forced to review our plans - declares Nicola D'Auria, MTV President - having to organize the 2020 edition online... certainly not an easy solution for an event that makes conviviality its founding aspect. But in recent months, thanks also to the experiences that we all have painfully acquired by now, we have set to work to organize the 2021 edition in presence which will take place on the weekend of 29 and 30 May. Furthermore, to satisfy wine enthusiasts from all regions, there will be the possibility of doubling over the weekend of 19 and 20 June based on the regional "color". Obviously, on both occasions, the entire event will be based on compliance with the safety standards necessary to guarantee the health of the participants."

Small groups and absolute need to book to ensure a quality welcome that complies with the regulations. In fact, safety and health will be among the watchwords of Cantine Aperte 2021, without forgetting the other principles that MTV has been pursuing for some time, which, especially in these difficult months, find an even deeper meaning: respect for the environment , rediscovery of territories and traditions, empathy and involvement.

But there is another important news for this year: Open Vineyards 2021, the new format branded MTV, an initiative strongly desired by the members and capable of endless opportunities for discovery for those who love wine and open spaces. Come on picnics among the vineyards to lunches among the rows, from direct contact with nature to the possibility of living absolutely intriguing experiences. A new course which, after having taken us to the cellar for years, now takes us directly to the vineyard to get to know the place where the vine grows and the wine is born.

"We have rediscovered some values that had been partially lost – underlines D'Auria – like the pleasure of living in the open air or that of sharing a dish or a glass of wine with others. "Vigneti Aperti" was not born as a spin-off of "Cantine Aperte" but rather as one response to the growing need to rediscover contact with nature and with the thousand territories that make Italy a unique country in the world. But that's not all: it wants to respond to the growing desire for authenticity that the consumer shows towards the product. Bringing him to the vineyard, describing the phases of vine cultivation, giving him an experience in direct contact with the work of the winemaker it is certainly a way to satisfy this widespread need”.

The visit to the vineyard and cellar as authentic educational and emotional experiences: this is the plus offered by Movimento Turismo del Vino and its associates. All that remains is to visit the association's new showcase, www.movimentoturiemovinolive.it, and find out how each region and each winery will organize its own initiatives linked to “Cantine Aperte” and “Vigneti Aperti”.

A way to stay up to date on what the Movement offers and choose your own travel itinerary.

The Movimento Turismo del Vino Association is a non-profit organization and includes over 800 of the most prestigious wineries in Italy, selected on the basis of specific requirements, first of all that of the quality of wine tourism hospitality. The aim of the association is to promote the culture of wine through visits to production sites.
