Wine: a passport with free tastings for Friuli Venezia Giulia wine tourists

The one reserved by PromoTurismoFVG for wine tourists who wish to discover the Friuli Venezia-Giulia region through tasting experiences in cellars and breweries is a special Passport: it opens the doors of over fifty producers to carry out three free tastings and collect the stamps that give the right at the end of the tour a complimentary bottle made available by the cellars.

The Passport of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Wine and Flavors Route can be downloaded online from the Web Shop of the PromoTurismoFVG website or, for lovers of printed paper, it can be collected at one of the info points located throughout the area.

Wine tourists will be able to choose three companies to visit among those participating in the project and enjoy three free tastings, each of which includes two glasses of wine. You will be able to discover the great white wines of the region, such as Friulano, Collio Bianco - the characteristic blend of Collio -, Ribolla Gialla (still, sparkling or macerated), Malvasia, Vitovska, but also the international Sauvignon and Pinot Blanc, the refined Pinot Grigio or the delicate Chardonnay; without neglecting the excellent reds such as Merlot and Cabernet, or the autochthonous Pignolo, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Tazzelenghe, grown in particular on the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Before the tasting, the cellar staff will validate the passport and place a stamp on the paper passport.

The complete list of participating wineries is available on www.turismofvg.it/passaporto or in the paper passport. From the hills of the province of Gorizia to the Valli del Torre, passing through Cormòns, Cividale del Friuli and San Daniele del Friuli, a "promised land" is revealed for tourists of taste, with numerous wineries adhering to the Passport, between the DOC Carso areas, Collio, Friuli Isonzo, Friuli Colli Orientali, Friuli Grave, which represent a wine heritage, as well as agri-food, of the highest quality. With the Passport it is also possible to visit some of the companies in Bassa Friulana, the area that includes three other DOCs - Aquileia, Annia and Latisana - which develop along the lagoon strip, from Grado to Marano and Lignano. A plain where clayey and sandy soils are cultivated, which, thanks to the proximity of the sea, give birth to wines with excellent minerality and sapidity.

The Friuli-Venezia Giulia Wine and Flavors Route is a project that brings together wineries, restaurants, delicatessens, wine bars and producers from Friuli Venezia Giulia who respect the values of quality, genuineness, professionalism and uniqueness of the products. A taste guide that allows you to explore six different itineraries along a route that ideally connects the coast with the mountain area, passing through the vineyards and hills of the regional hinterland. www.tastefvg.it.
