This is confirmed by all the recent data, including the encouraging signal from Vinitaly in Verona: wine remains the flagship of Italy, which despite the crisis maintains its primacy. This is also certified by an interview with the president of Masi Agricola and Federvini, Sandro Boscaini, published by Teleborsa, during which the president of wine producers recalled that Italy is second to none for the wide variety of products it presents in the world: "The sector must therefore be primary, and it is, but it needs to be contextualized in a country that is struggling to get out of this crisis".

What can the Government do to support this strategic sector? "We ask the Government to simplify: we are overwhelmed by laws, by a system of laces and snares that really pose serious difficulties in operations, but also in understanding the simplicity and naturalness of our sector linked to agriculture and the territory".

According to Boscaini, the wine sector needs less bureaucracy, i.e. not having to pile paper upon paper to demonstrate the quality of a wine; we “need the minimum to create bureaucracy and the maximum to create quality”. Secondly, Boscaini hopes that Italy will adopt a position on the euro issue, warning that the wine sector, as well as the economy in general, is suffering from the overvaluation of the single currency and has been suffering from it for too many months, putting supply chains in difficulty and all the actors downstream of the production. As a third point, Boscaini asks the Renzi government for support in international promotion.

And he takes China as an example, where many do not know that Italy produces wine while they know French wines very well. There, Boscaini explains, there is strong promotion of the product from beyond the Alps, while we are in fifth, sixth place among the countries that supply China. Can agriculture and wine represent our country's driving force for recovery?. According to Boscaini they are certainly one of the flywheels or perhaps even the most evident and strongest and not only for the volumes, but for the tradition it has and for the recognition both in quality and for the originality of the products and, this is particularly true for the wine.
