Grandi Langhe is back in attendance, the event eagerly awaited by professionals in the world of wine to discover all the latest news on the most important wines of the Langhe and Roero. On 4 and 5 April at OGR Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin, Italian and international buyers – over 50 come from the USA, Canada, UK and Scandinavia – wine merchants, restaurateurs and Italian and foreign importers will be able to participate in the largest tasting dedicated to the two famous denominations with a important news: for the first time, private consumers will also be able to access the event, during a session entirely dedicated to them, on Monday 4 April from 18.30 to 21.30.

“We can't wait to be able to meet the operators again in person after the 2021 stop,” explains Matteo Ascheri, President of the Barolo Barbaresco Protection Consortium. “Grandi Langhe has experienced significant growth and our denominations are in excellent health. The decision to dedicate an evening session to enthusiasts reflects our commitment to strengthening the link between the wineries and the final consumer".

But not just wine. Grandi Langhe 2022 turns the spotlight on environmental and ethical issues, with the summit “CHANGES. Environment & Ethics in the Langhe of the future”, scheduled for Tuesday 5 April at 17:00. The meeting will be an opportunity to take stock of climate change and its impact on vineyard management, work ethics and the virtuous management of the workforce, as well as on the role of transport and logistics in a supply chain determined to build an increasingly sustainable. Moderated by the journalist Federico Quaranta, speakers will be: Federico Spanna, Piedmont Region Agrometeorology Section, Attilio Scienza, President of the National Wine Committee, Roberto Cavallo, CEO of the Erica Cooperative and agronomist, Alessandro Durando, President of Confcooperative Cuneo, Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, President of Federdoc, Claudio Naviglia, CEO Humus Job, Andrea Beggio, Sandri Trasporti, and Matteo Ascheri, President of the Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani Consortium.

The Consortium for the Protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani includes 540 associated wineries for an extension of 10 hectares of vineyards of protected denominations divided as follows: Barolo 2214 hectares; Barbaresco 812; Dogliani 761; Diano d'Alba 209; Barbera d'Alba 1672; Nebbiolo d'Alba 1125; Dolcetto d'Alba 927; Langhe 2396 hectares (of which 939 Langhe Nebbiolo). In total, 65 million bottles and 9 protected denominations are produced (Barolo, Barbaresco, Dogliani, Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe, Dolcetto d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Verduno Pelaverga).

On the other hand, there are 310 wineries associated with the Roero Consortium that occupy 1300 hectares of vineyards with 7 million bottles and 2 protected denominations (Roero and Roero Arneis)
