A busy weekend, what from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 May will meet in Mezzocorona (TN) winelovers and enthusiasts on the occasion of 32nd edition of the “Teroldego Rotaliano Exhibition” to taste the many interpretations of the native Trentino red and – new this year – the preview of the 2022 vintage. Masterclasses and tastings at Palazzo Martini are scheduled, but also opportunities to get to know the area and its gastronomic specialties.

The history of Teroldego is intimately linked to the Piana Rotaliana, the only production area, north of Trento, where its presence is documented since 1300. First DOC recognized in the province in 1971 with the name "Rotaliano", today it is one of the symbolic wines of Trentino. From the purplish-red color, called "blood of the Dragon" - reference to the history of the basilisk, a frightening animal that bullied the Piana Rotaliana from whose drops of blood, according to legend, the first strains of this variety sprouted – it is a wine with an unmistakable aroma of wild blackberry with notes of blueberry, raspberry and violet.

The location chosen for the event is confirmed Mezzocorona, a town in the Piana Rotaliana north of the capital, in the suggestive courtyard of the seventeenth-century Palazzo Martini. As per tradition, the event will offer exclusive masterclasses and guided tastings with the possibility of freely tasting the many interpretations of Teroldego proposed for the occasion.

The free evening tastings will be accompanied by live music and culinary proposals signed by local restaurants. Quality food&beverage will also be the protagonists of the Sunday lunch, which will accompany the closing of the event in the late afternoon.

As always, the "Mostra del Teroldego" also represents an unmissable opportunity to get to know the area up close, including guided bike tours along the Giro del Vino 50.

Teroldego Rotaliano is a native wine that grows in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana, a handkerchief of land north of Trento that extends for 450 hectares between Mezzocorona, Mezzolombardo and San Michele all'Adige. It is an important wine with an unmistakable class, which has always been defined as the "prince of Trentino wines”. Intense ruby ​​red color with garnet reflections, of varying intensity depending on the maturation of the wine, it has a very fruity aroma which recalls very ripe berries such as blackberry, blueberry and raspberry. The taste is as fine as it is powerful, slightly tannic, mineral and lively, the flavor is dry, savory and with a perfect balance between pleasantness and concentration.
